Curious Pastimes was set up to provide high quality live action roleplaying games on a grand scale. We see no reason why a large event should mean a compromise in the quality of the roleplaying action, and continually strive to make everybody’s experience an exciting one.
At Curious Pastimes we work to bring a level of professionalism to every level of the game and the company itself. Whether it is behind the scenes organisation, response to enquiries, provision of amenities at events, quality of the rules system used, player access to plot, and so on. We always attempt to provide the best service we can to all of our players.
Curious Pastimes provides a consistent rules system which offers opportunity to every player. The way in which the rules are presented and used means that every situation can be dealt with by players. Even mighty foes will have an achilles heel which the diligent player can exploit. The most tortuous and desperate plotlines will allow for player characters (eventually) be successful. In a magical mediaeval world each part has an effect on the other. It is important that the balance between combat and magic, mighty opponents and aggressive rabble, is a constant one for an enjoyable game.
One of the basic concepts behind the provision of campaign plot is that every player should have their part to play and access to the action. Grand machinations and decisions are not the sole preserve of group leaders. We aim to provide a plot which allows each individual full access to the action, from the lowly foot soldier to the mightiest noble.
In order to avoid stagnation we continue to experiment with a variety of ideas of how things should be run and use a variety of sites to host events. We are happy to answer any inquiries you may have and welcome your comments.
We hope to see you soon at one of our events.
